Local Businessman Arrested on Drug and Stalking Charges: Over 100 Firearms and Thousands of Rounds of Ammunition Discovered in Home and Business

Mitchell man’s home and business yield 125 guns

In February, Mitchell businessman Cory Cumings was arrested on drug and stalking charges in Aurora County. A search of his home and business uncovered 147 items, including 125 guns, rifles, shotguns, pistols, and eight silencers. Agents also discovered more than 10,000 rounds of ammunition during the raid.

Cumings had previously been arrested earlier this year for driving under the influence of drugs while out on bond for three previous DUI charges. A court hearing is scheduled for July 11 to address his cases in Aurora and Davison Counties.

The investigation into Cumings’ activities began in December when agents found 3 ounces of THC wax and a scale with meth residue inside a safe in his bedroom. This led to the charges against him, including stalking charges related to threats he made to hire a hitman to kill a woman prior to the raid.

The discovery of drugs and firearms in Cumings’ home and business has raised concerns about the safety of the community. It remains to be seen what consequences he will face for his actions, but it is clear that he will have a lot of explaining to do in court on July 11th.
