Local Athletes Shine in High School Sports Season: From Baseball to Golf, Sheldon and South Eugene Excel.

Top high school spring sports performances and scores in the Eugene area

Eugene’s high school sports season is in full swing, and local athletes are excelling in a variety of sports including boys golf, baseball, tennis and more. In baseball, Marist had a standout victory over North Bend with impressive performances from Niko Leyba, Peyton Tyner, and Cash Andrus. Leyba shone on both offense and defense while Gianni Lombardi also made a strong contribution to the team’s success.

Boys lacrosse saw Sheldon and South Eugene securing victories over Thurston and Mountainside respectively. In girls tennis, Churchill and North Eugene ended in a 4-4 tie with standout performances from players like Sasha Lambirth and the doubles pair of Madelyn Bloomfeldt and Ava Burnett.

Softball games included a dominant win by Sheldon over Grants Pass, thanks to players like Kinley Pappas, Kaylee Waller, and Avery Coffin. Junction City also secured a close victory over Marshfield with Lily Buendia leading the team both at bat and on the mound.

On the golf course, South Eugene’s Owen Davis-Piger and Sheldon’s girls team emerged victorious in high school invitational competitions at the Eugene Country Club. Francesca Tomp of North Eugene also stood out with an exceptional performance in the girls tournament.
