L’Jarius Sneed: A Thriving Cornerback on the Move

L’Jarius Sneed of the Titans claims ‘my knee is perfectly fine’ following $76 million contract extension

L’Jarius Sneed, the new $55 million cornerback of the Tennessee Titans, addressed concerns about his knee during a news conference. Despite rumors that his knee issues had affected his trade market, Sneed stated that there is nothing wrong with his knee and he is in good health. He emphasized that he played the entire season without any issues and had only experienced minor knee problems in the past.

Sneed’s durability over the past few years for the Kansas City Chiefs was a key factor in the Titans’ successful completion of the trade and their decision to give him a lucrative contract. In 2020, Sneed missed part of his rookie year with a broken collarbone but has only missed three games in three seasons since then. The Chiefs, facing salary cap constraints after winning back-to-back Super Bowls, were unable to retain Sneed and granted him permission to seek a trade.

Sneed was graded as the No. 30 cornerback in the NFL by Pro Football Focus last season, with one of his standout plays being a crucial forced fumble in the AFC championship game. Now, Sneed will join the Titans as they undergo changes in coaching staff, with Brian Callahan taking over head coaching duties from Mike Vrabel.
