Liora Argamani, mother of Noa, the former Hamas hostage, has died

Liora, a mother of one, has been actively involved in the campaign for the safe return of her daughter Noa since her abduction. Despite facing numerous challenges, she has remained steadfast in her efforts to secure her daughter’s release. In a recent interview, Liora expressed her unwavering hope for Noa’s return, even as her own health deteriorated. She appealed to world leaders for assistance and shared her deep sense of loss and the complexities of their situation with Yaakov, Noa’s father.

Liora reached out to US President Joe Biden last December, acknowledging the complexities of the situation but still seeking as much assistance as possible. She pleaded for the chance to reunite with her daughter before her health deteriorates further. Noa spent time in Gaza and expressed concern for Liora’s health during her captivity. At a rally for abductees, she shared her relief at being reunited with her loving family and thanked those who supported them.

Liora is a 61-year-old woman originally from China who moved to Israel with Jacob, Noa’s father. They have been fighting brain cancer together for years, and Noa remains the center of their hopes and prayers for a safe return. Their story is one of love and resilience in the face of adversity.
