Limited Damage: Springfield Fire Crews Quickly Contain Blaze at Superior Rental Location

Massive fire at equipment rental business in Springfield fought by crews

On Monday afternoon, a massive fire broke out at the Superior Rental location off of Kearney Street in Springfield. The flames were visible from I-44 and Highway 65, but thanks to the quick response of emergency personnel, the damage was limited to two forklifts.

Fire crews worked tirelessly to contain the fire and were assisted by Springfield City Utilities in addressing powerline concerns in the area. Despite the visible flames, firefighters were able to prevent any injuries or further damage to the area.

Springfield City Utilities quickly fixed the 60 reported outages in the area caused by the blaze, according to their outage map. Through swift action and coordination with Springfield City Utilities, firefighters were able to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to other structures.

The only items impacted by the fire were the two forklifts at the Superior Rental location. Thanks to the quick response of emergency personnel, the situation was brought under control without any reported injuries or significant damage to other structures in the area.
