Leicester’s Enzo Maresca Takes Center Stage in Chelsea’s Managerial Search

Reports: Chelsea considering Enzo Maresca as new manager

According to reports, Chelsea is in talks with Leicester’s Enzo Maresca to become their new head coach. Maresca, who was Pep Guardiola’s assistant at Manchester City until last year, led Leicester back to the Premier League after their relegation. The style of football he employed has caught the attention of Chelsea’s decision-makers, and they have sought permission from Leicester to speak with him directly.

While Maresca is a top candidate for the position, Thomas Frank of Brentford and Kieran McKenna of Ipswich are also being considered. Frank guided Brentford to promotion behind Leicester, while McKenna led Ipswich to a playoff final before their promotion. All three candidates have shown success in the past season and could be excellent options for Chelsea as they look for a new manager following the departure of Mauricio Pochettino.

Pochettino spent just one season at Stamford Bridge before leaving due to disappointment over missing out on Champions League qualification despite finishing sixth in the Premier League. However, despite not winning any trophies this season, Chelsea showed promise towards the end with a run of five consecutive wins that ensured their participation in European competition for next season. As they continue their search for a new manager, Chelsea will look to build on this recent success and achieve more under one of these top candidates.
