Leicester City Secures Key Players for Future with Contract Extensions; Bids Farewell to Six Players at End of Season

Howard and Cayman sign deals with Leicester while six others depart

Leicester City has announced contract extensions for Scotland defender Sophie Howard and Belgium midfielder Janice Cayman. The two players have signed deals that will keep them at the club until the end of the 2024-25 campaign. Howard, who has made 50 appearances for Scotland, has been a consistent presence in the Leicester team, featuring in all 22 league games last season. On the other hand, Cayman joined Leicester from Lyon last summer and played in 28 matches, helping the team reach the FA Cup semi-finals for the first time.

In addition to the contract extensions, Leicester City has also confirmed the departure of six players at the end of the season. Aimee Palmer, Remy Siemsen, Josie Green, Demi Lambourne, Monique Robinson, and Aileen Whelan have all left the Women’s Super League club following the end of their contracts. Whelan, who captained the team, has announced her retirement from professional football in May.

The Foxes finished 10th in the WSL last season and will be hoping to strengthen their squad ahead of the new campaign. With Howard and Cayman committing their futures to the club, Leicester will be looking to build on their achievements from last season and continue to improve in the upcoming season.
