Known for his great athleticism and incredible strength, Allen is considered one of the most respected and accomplished offensive linemen in NFL history. His versatility and dependability were also key characteristics of his career, serving as an inspiration to many other players.

Larry Allen played 12 out of his 14 NFL seasons with the Cowboys, where he was a dominant force on the field. He was a seven-time First-team NFL All-Pro and an 11-time Pro Bowler at both guard and tackle. He helped the Cowboys win Super Bowl XXX in 1996. His exceptional skills earned him a spot on the NFL All-Decade team for both the 1990s and 2000s. After spending his final two NFL seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, Allen retired with the Cowboys in 2009 by signing a one-day contract. In 2013, he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a first-ballot inductee.
