Legal Battles and Tributes: The Complex Life of Lisa Marie Presley’s Estate

Federal Investigators Take Over Failed Graceland Foreclosure Attempt

On January 22, 2023, fans gathered outside Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee to pay tribute to Lisa Marie Presley at her memorial. As they mourned the loss of the legendary singer and actress, another legal battle was unfolding in the background. In May of the same year, Elvis Presley’s granddaughter Riley Keough filed a lawsuit against Naussany Investments for attempting to foreclose on the estate.

Keough claimed that Naussany had obtained the property’s deed fraudulently and that Lisa Marie Presley had used it as collateral for a $3.8 million loan that she had failed to repay. The case was eventually halted by a judge in Shelby County Chancery Court who intervened and prevented the sale of the estate. It was later discovered that Naussany had ceased its foreclosure attempts after being confronted with potential fraudulent activities in the matter.

In response to this discovery, the Tennessee Attorney General’s office initiated an investigation into Naussany’s actions. However, after careful consideration, they decided to transfer their investigation to federal authorities as they believed that the case would be better suited for federal law enforcement. The Department of Justice has not provided any comments on the ongoing investigation at this time.
