Legacy Health CEO Returns and Key Leader Departs Amid Merger with OHSU

Legacy Health CEO Kathryn Correia Announces Retirement as Acquisition by OHSU on the Horizon

Dr. George Brown, who previously ran Legacy Health from 2008 to 2018, is set to return as CEO of the hospital system. This news comes after Kathryn Correia, who has been in the position since June 2018, announced her retirement. The hospital system is also undergoing a merger with Oregon Health & Science University.

Anna Loomis, Legacy’s chief financial officer, is also leaving the organization. Charles Wilhoite, the chair of Legacy’s board of directors, informed staff of Loomis’ departure in an email. Wilhoite praised Loomis for her role in guiding Legacy towards financial stability despite economic challenges. Loomis has been CFO since 2018.

Correia will remain in an advisory capacity until June, Legacy confirmed. In her email to staff, she cited health reasons for her retirement. Corriea explained that a fall she suffered in November of the previous year led her to reevaluate her resilience in the face of accumulated stress over the last four years. The fall, she said, highlighted her lack of reserves to heal properly and her recovery has been ongoing.
