LATAM Group Unveils Redesigned Economy Cabin on Boeing 787 Dreamliner Featuring Sustainable Materials and Enhanced Entertainment System

LATAM Reveals Updated Economy Cabin Design for Dreamliner

The LATAM Group has unveiled a new Economy cabin design for their Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, with a substantial investment of US$15 million. This redesigned cabin aims to improve the onboard experience for passengers with several upgrades. One significant enhancement is the new onboard entertainment system, allowing Economy class passengers to connect their personal headphones via Bluetooth and enjoy a wide variety of content on 12-inch high-definition touchscreens. This includes over 170 movies, 550 TV show episodes, 100 music albums, and exclusive content from platforms like HBO Max, Paramount+, and Disney+.

Another exciting feature of the redesigned cabin is the use of seat upholstery made with 57% recycled leather. This sustainable material production reduces carbon emissions by up to 60% and saves water and land use by up to 55%. While this is the second wide-body aircraft to feature seats with recycled leather upholstery, all narrow-body aircraft in the LATAM group fleet already include this eco-friendly material. The renovated spaces also offer headrests, a 6-inch recline, and a renewed onboard entertainment system with 12-inch screens.

In addition to these enhancements, LATAM passengers have the option to upgrade to LATAM+ seats for an even more comfortable travel experience. LATAM+ seats offer extra legroom, greater recline, exclusive luggage space, and priority boarding and disembarkation. These enhancements position the LATAM Group at the forefront of the region in terms of onboard entertainment and sustainability, reflecting the unique spirit and pride of South America.

Furthermore, LATAM Group plans to introduce four aircraft with this new cabin design this year totaling an investment of US$60 million.

A new interactive 3D map called Panasonic’s Arc™ has been incorporated into the cabin design as well. This map provides detailed information about landmarks and streets from the air
