Laredo Police Arrest Robbery Suspect, Recover Stolen Money and Other Evidence

Man charged with armed robbery of eight-liner business and theft of $3,000

On Monday, May 20, at approximately 10:30 a.m., Laredo Police apprehended Raimundo Rodriguez, 51, for robbing a local eight-liner business at gunpoint. Rodriguez has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The incident took place at the 600 block of Market Street, where the eight-liner business called King Fu is located.

According to reports, upon entering the King Fu business, Rodriguez brandished a gun at two employees and demanded money. He then fled the scene with approximately $3,000 in cash stuffed into a garbage bag. However, thanks to surveillance footage and diligent investigative work by authorities, Rodriguez’s identity was confirmed and his vehicle was tracked down. A warrant was issued for his arrest and he was taken into custody.

In addition to recovering some of the stolen money and other evidence related to the crime, investigators were also able to identify Rodriguez as the suspect in several other similar incidents in the past few months.
