King Charles Skips Horseback Ride at Trooping the Colour due to Health Concerns, as Kate Middleton Misses Yet Another Royal Event

Kate Middleton to Skip Trooping the Colour Event

The 2024 Trooping the Colour is scheduled for June 15, and this year’s event will be missing the attendance of Kate Middleton, who will not be present at the Colonel’s Review as she was in 2023. King Charles is expected to attend the ceremony, although he will not be riding on horseback, opting instead to inspect the troops from a carriage.

Despite ongoing challenges facing the royal family, Trooping the Colour remains one of their most important events on their calendar. This official birthday celebration for the monarch brings together senior members of the royal family as they gather on the balcony of Buckingham Palace to acknowledge the public.

Buckingham Palace has confirmed that King Charles will be participating in the ceremony, receiving regular cancer treatment notwithstanding. Although he won’t be on horseback this year, he will still inspect the troops. Meanwhile, Kate Middleton’s attendance at the event is yet to be confirmed as she continues her cancer treatment and has been absent from all public engagements so far in 2024.

Kate Middleton was appointed Colonel of the Irish Guards in 2022, and her absence from this year’s event will be marked by General James Bucknall inspecting the troops in her place. The British Army had initially indicated Kate’s attendance on tickets released in March but later revised them to remove any mention of her due to uncertainty surrounding her health.

Having announced her “preventive chemotherapy” treatment in March, Kate has not returned to public duty since then. Despite Prince William stating that she was “doing well” as of May 10th, there has been no update on her health from Kensington Palace yet. Kate’s last official public appearance was at Sandringham in December and she hasn’t attended any royal engagements so far this year.

The Royal Family faces significant challenges as they navigate through a difficult time with Queen Elizabeth II passing away last year and Prince Harry stepping down from his royal duties earlier this year. In light of these challenges, it remains unclear what changes we can expect to see in future royal events such as Trooping The Colour.

Despite these challenges Trooping The Colour remains an essential event for members of The Royal Family as they come together to celebrate another year of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign. It is a symbolic occasion where members of The Royal Family take time off their busy schedules and come together to acknowledge and appreciate their subjects while also bringing attention to some pressing issues facing society today.

In conclusion, while it may seem like a small detail compared to other major events happening within The Royal Family right now, Trooping The Colour still holds significant importance for many people around
