The Kentucky Wildcats are set to begin their postseason play in baseball as they face off against Western Michigan on Friday at Kentucky Proud Park. The game is scheduled to start at 12:00 pm ET and will be televised on the SEC Network.
Kentucky hopes to achieve a feat that has never been done before, winning its second consecutive regional championship. The team has also never reached the College World Series in Omaha but believes this may be the year to break the streak.
As the No. 2 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament, Kentucky has set a new school record, but their odds of winning the College World Series are tied for the fourth-best at +1000 according to DraftKings. Other SEC teams such as Texas A&M, Tennessee, and LSU have better odds than Kentucky at present.
