According to U.S. News & World Report, the Best Places to Live in the country for 2024-2025 have been revealed. Out of 150 cities across the United States, only those that met specific criteria were included on the list. The criteria included good value, desirability, a strong job market, and high quality of life.
Two cities in Kentucky made it onto this prestigious list: Lexington and Louisville. Lexington, with an overall score of 6.6 out of 10, ranked No. 15 on the Best Places to Live list. Additionally, it placed at No. 33 on the Best Places to Retire category.
Louisville also received recognition as one of the best places to live in the country with an overall score of 6.5 out of 10 and a ranking of No. 42 on the Best Places to Live list. It’s worth noting that Louisville’s proper pronunciation is “Lou-uh-vull” (with the ‘Lou’ and the ‘uh’ slightly combining).
Both Lexington and Louisville offer their residents a great quality of life, strong job markets, and overall desirability, which is why they made it onto this esteemed list of Best Places to Live in the country.
