The Kentucky Chamber has released its wrap-up of the 2024 Kentucky General Assembly, which is now available for download. The publication contains bill descriptions, details on priority legislation that passed, a legislative voting record, and more.
Some of the highlights from this year’s session include the Chamber’s advocacy resulting in $1.006 billion in savings for Kentucky employers, equating to savings of $589 per employee in the Commonwealth. Additionally, lawmakers invested in the Commonwealth’s future through significant budget priorities such as child care, education, economic development, and infrastructure.
The Chamber also successfully advocated for several key issues during this session. These included enacting voluntary paid leave insurance, removing barriers to opening new child care centers, establishing a data privacy framework, authorizing autonomous vehicles, and expanding the signature bourbon industry. Notably, the General Assembly did not pass new sales taxes on business purchases, a top priority of the Chamber in 2024.
