Loryn Bryson, ODOT District 7 public information officer, emphasized the importance of rotating tasks to reduce physical demand and finding shade. She also advised workers to check on their coworkers and ensure they stay hydrated. While work will continue as usual, Bryson urged workers to be mindful of the heat and take breaks in the shade or inside their vehicles when necessary.

In addition to keeping themselves cool, drivers are also being reminded to give workers enough space and reduce speed in construction zones. This is to ensure everyone’s safety and prevent accidents during these hot weather conditions.

Overall, ODOT workers in Dayton are taking all necessary precautions to stay safe and healthy during this week’s heat wave while continuing with their projects without any delays expected.
