Keenan Allen: Chicago Bears’ New Offensive Weapon in the Upcoming Season

Ryan Poles deems Keenan Allen as “a flawless match”

Chicago Bears made a significant move earlier this month by acquiring receiver Keenan Allen, adding another weapon to their offense for the upcoming season with presumptive No. 1 overall pick, Caleb Williams. At the annual league meeting on Monday, G.M. Ryan Poles mentioned that the team’s personnel staff had been keeping a close eye on Allen as a potential cap casualty. When the opportunity arose and Allen became available, Poles seized it without hesitation.

Poles was impressed with his time in K.C., where he watched Allen make impressive plays on tape that surprised him with his high level of play despite his age. Even though Allen only played 13 games last season, he achieved a career-high with 108 catches, 1,243 yards (the second most in his career), and seven touchdowns. Poles believes that adding Allen presents an excellent opportunity for the team as they move forward with a young quarterback.

Poles emphasized that Allen is an ideal fit for the team due to his understanding of the NFL, timing, space ability to read defenses, which will greatly benefit the young quarterback. With Allen joining receiver DJ Moore, tight ends Cole Kmet and Gerald Everett, and running back D’Andre Swift, Poles sees a balanced field with plenty of potential for dynamic and special plays in the upcoming season.

In summary, Chicago Bears made a smart move by acquiring Keenan Allen from Kansas City Chiefs earlier this month as they look to strengthen their offense ahead of the upcoming season. Ryan Poles explained that he has been monitoring Allen closely as a potential cap casualty before seizing this opportunity when it presented itself
