The Kansas Department of Agriculture’s Division of Conservation (KDA-DOC) in Manhattan, Kansas has announced the availability of funds for commercial feedlots and dairy operations to assist with livestock water efficiency technology. This initiative, known as the Kansas Livestock Water Efficiency Pilot Project, aims to promote water conservation and address water challenges in the state by providing cost share assistance and incentive payments.
Eligible practices for funding include upgrading to high efficiency livestock waterers and implementing water recycling systems. To be eligible for funding, applicants must possess a current livestock water right with the state of Kansas. Applications for the program will be accepted until Wednesday, July 31, 2024, and only equipment purchases and subscriptions made after application approval will be eligible for funding.
