Juventus and Kiwior: Will Poland Reunite with Italy in August?

Juventus consider Arsenal defender as backup option to Calafiori

22-year-old Italian center back Riccardo Calafiori has emerged as a top target for Juventus this summer, impressing under Thiago Motta at Bologna during the 2023-24 season. His standout performances have caught the attention of Juventus, which is eager to bring him to Turin and reunite him with his former coach. However, negotiations with Bologna may prove challenging due to a 50% future resale clause with Basel.

In light of these challenges, Juventus director Cristiano Giuntoli has identified an intriguing alternative at Arsenal: 24-year-old Polish defender Jakub Kiwior. Kiwior has struggled to secure regular playing time under Mikel Arteta and could be available for a move in the near future. Giuntoli views Kiwior as a strong addition to Thiago Motta’s squad in Turin and sees potential in bringing him from North London to the Piedmont capital.

As negotiations progress, the possibility of exchanging players like Nicolussi Caviglia, Fabio Miretti, and Tommaso Barbieri has been considered by Juventus. While these options are being explored, it remains to be seen whether any deals will materialize before the transfer window closes on August 31st.
