JPMorgan Seeks New Technology Managing Director for Hong Kong Region Despite US Banks’ Cutbacks

JPMorgan in Hong Kong Seeks Tech Expert to Fill Major Vacancy After Senior Executive Departs

JPMorgan is looking for a new technology managing director for its Hong Kong region, despite cuts being made by US banks in the city. Steve Brooks, who had been with the bank for nearly two decades and was previously the head of APAC equities technology at JPMorgan, left in January to spend more time with his family. Sources confirm that JPMorgan is currently searching for a replacement for Brooks.

Brooks began his career at JPMorgan in London in 2002 and had been responsible for the bank’s algo trading and liquidity operations in the EMEA region until 2013. Despite his departure, equities sales and trading revenues at JPMorgan remained steady in the first quarter of 2024.
