Joshua Zirkzee’s Serie A Transfer to Milan Stalls Over Agent Commission Dispute

The potential hindrance to Milan’s acquisition of Joshua Zirkzee

Milan, a Serie A side, may miss out on signing Dutch striker Joshua Zirkzee in the summer due to a dispute over agent commission. The team was close to finalizing a deal to bring the 23-year-old to San Siro by meeting Bologna’s €40M release clause. However, negotiations are now stalled as Milan tries to negotiate a lower commission for his super agent, Kia Joorabchian, from €15M to €10M.

Transfer expert Alfredo Pedulla has reported that there is interest in Zirkzee from the Premier League and Juventus. Joorabchian has a good relationship with Juventus Sporting Director Cristian Giuntoli, which could give them the upper hand in hijacking Milan’s move for Zirkzee. Juventus is currently in talks to sign Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz, another client of Joorabchian, which could potentially complicate Milan’s pursuit of Zirkzee.

Zirkzee made his way to Italy from Bayern Munich in 2022 and his 11 league goals last season were instrumental in helping Bologna secure a spot in the Champions League for the first time in their history. The competition for his signature is heating up, and it remains to be seen if Milan can secure a deal despite the commission dispute.
