Join NASA’s Spaceflight Technology, Applications and Research (STAR) Program: Expand Your Knowledge and Skills in Space Biology

Apply now to send your biology experiment to space with NASA STAR program

NASA’s Spaceflight Technology, Applications and Research (STAR) program is now accepting applications from Principal Investigators, senior research scientists, and post-doctoral scholars for its next cohort of space biology researchers until June 28. This virtual training program is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills needed to conduct biology experiments in space using NASA commercial platforms.

The program aims to facilitate entry into space biology and spaceflight studies by offering a comprehensive curriculum that covers topics such as fundamental space biology, technical and logistical considerations, opportunities, and the advantages and limitations of conducting experiments in space. Participants will have the opportunity to interact with PIs who have prior mission experience, developers of spaceflight technology, and flight providers.

Through this program, researchers will gain access to cutting-edge tools and resources that will enable them to conduct successful space biology experiments. They will also learn how to thrive in this unique research environment. The STAR program offers a unique opportunity for researchers to expand their knowledge and skills in space biology and contribute to groundbreaking research in this field.

Recent examples of space biology flight projects include work in astrobiology, exploration of space biology, and experiments conducted by researchers with various backgrounds and expertise. Apply online today to be part of the next cohort of space biology researchers!
