John Tinniswood: The World’s Oldest Living Man Turns 111 and Shares His Secrets to Long Life

Briton Becomes World’s Oldest Man at 111, Shares the Secret to His Longevity Following Guinness World Records

John Tinniswood, at 111 years old, is the world’s oldest living man. Born in 1912 in Merseyside, England, he has been retired for over fifty years and recently inherited the title from the previous record holder, Juan Vicente Perez Mora of Venezuela. Despite his age, Tinniswood claims there is no secret to his longevity other than luck.

According to Guinness World Records, Tinniswood’s status as the oldest living man was confirmed after experts from the organization and the Gerontology Research Group assessed his age. The oldest man ever recorded was Japan’s Jiroemon Kimura, who lived to 116 years and 54 days. Currently, the oldest living person is Maria Branyas Morera of Spain, who is 117 years old.

When asked about his thoughts on the state of the world, Tinniswood offered a measured response. He noted that things are improving slowly but still have a long way to go. He believes that progress is being made at a gradual pace and that it’s always changing. His perspective on life and longevity is simple: “You either live long or you live short; you can’t do much about it.”
