As the college sports offseason begins, the 2024 Women’s Basketball Transfer Portal Tracker, brought to you by Three Notch’d Brewing, is in full swing. The women’s basketball team at JMU is expected to have some major turnover as the transfer portal season gets underway. While some notable changes have already been made to the Dukes’ roster, it remains to be seen what other players will leave or join the team.

One of the new additions to JMU’s roster is Zakiya Stephenson from Ole Miss. She has a strong chance of making it into JMU’s rotation for the 2024-25 season after averaging over 10 minutes per game as a freshman. Another newcomer is Ro Scott from Marshall who led the Thundering Herd in scoring in 2022-23 and is transferring to JMU. Although she only played six games in the 2023-24 season, Scott is known as a quality scorer in the Sun Belt and is expected to bring an offensive boost to the Dukes.

On the departures front, Chloe Sterling, a rising junior who played well as one of JMU’s point guards in 2023-24, is leaving the team. She led the team in assists and had shown potential to develop into an All-Conference player. Additionally, Steph Ouderkirk, a role player for the Dukes
