Jim Nill, the Dallas Stars General Manager of the Year: Recognized for His Leadership and Building a Competitive Team

Jim Nill of the Stars named NHL General Manager of the Year

Jim Nill, the general manager of the Dallas Stars, won the Jim Gregory General Manager of the Year Award on Monday night. Nill received 17 out of 42 votes, winning by a wide margin. He was recognized for his success in building a competitive team and leading the Stars to the Western Conference final for the second consecutive season before falling to Edmonton in six games.

Nill is not new to winning awards as he has already won four Stanley Cups during his tenure with the Detroit Red Wings. His notable move was acquiring defenseman Chris Tanev at the trade deadline without sacrificing a first-round pick or the organization’s top prospect. Nill’s accomplishments were recognized during playoffs and he was awarded for his exceptional work in guiding the Stars to success in the season.
