Jets Sign Versatile Offensive Lineman Kohl Levao, Waive Vitaliy Gurman

Jets sign offensive lineman Kohl Levao and release offensive lineman Vitaliy Gurman

The Jets announced on Wednesday that they had signed offensive lineman Kohl Levao, who had previously played for the San Antonio Brahmas in the UFL. In a corresponding move, they waived offensive lineman Vitaliy Gurman.

Levao is a versatile player with experience playing at multiple positions along the offensive line. He had a successful season in 2021 with the University of Hawaii, earning an All-Mountain West honorable mention and allowing only one sack. During the spring of 2023, he played both guard spots for the University of Hawaii. Levao also played well in pass protection, boasting a success rate of 97 percent.

On the other hand, Gurman was originally signed by the Jets’ practice squad during the final week of the 2023 regular season. He began his career as an undrafted free agent out of Toledo and was initially with the Raiders before being cut and signed to Las Vegas’ practice squad. After that, he spent most of 2023 on the Cardinals’ practice squad before eventually joining the Jets.
