The Jets are making bold moves to acquire veteran talent for the 2024 season. In addition to considering acquiring additional draft picks later this month, they are also actively seeking out top quarterbacks to join their roster.
According to Rich Cimini of ESPN.com, the Jets are interested in trading down from the 10th overall pick in the first round with a team looking to move up for a top quarterback still available after the first nine picks. Teams like the Vikings, Broncos, and Raiders are behind the Jets and are likely in the market for a quarterback. The Vikings, who have the 23rd overall pick from the Texans, are rumored to be eyeing a move into the top 10, making them an appealing trade partner for teams lower in the round.
Jets General Manager Joe Douglas mentioned that the team is considering a quarterback at the 10th pick, but with Rodgers hinting that he will continue playing for four more years, it would be controversial to select his successor with a pick that could be used to strengthen the team for the 2024 season. The team is also looking to acquire a second-round pick to make up for one they gave away in exchange for Aaron Rodgers earlier this year.
