Jets cornerback Tae Hayes was arrested in Alabama early Sunday morning on charges of marijuana possession. The incident occurred at 3:46 a.m. in Morgan County, and he was released at 5:07 a.m. after posting a $300 bond. According to Trinity PD records, the charge is considered a second-degree misdemeanor.
The Jets’ spokesman stated that the team is aware of the situation but will refrain from making further comments as it is an ongoing legal matter, as reported by ESPN’s Rich Cimini. Hayes played in one game for the Jets during the 2023 season, where he made two tackles.
Since going undrafted out of Appalachian State, Hayes has played in the NFL for four seasons, during which he has been a part of six different teams. In a total of 14 games, he has made 18 tackles, defended two passes, recovered one fumble, but has not recorded any interceptions.
