Jets Cornerback Tae Hayes taken into custody for marijuana possession

Tae Hayes, a 26-year-old cornerback with the Jets, was arrested in Morgan County, Alabama early on Sunday morning. According to multiple reports, Hayes was charged with marijuana possession and released after posting a $300 bond at 5:07 a.m. The Jets responded to the arrest by stating that they are aware of the situation but will refrain from further comment as it is pending legal action.

Hayes played one game for the Jets in 2023, participating in 13 defensive snaps and 10 on special teams. During his only appearance in the regular season that year, he totaled two tackles. Since going undrafted out of Appalachian State in 2019, Hayes has spent time with nine different NFL teams and played in the regular season for six of them. He has played a total of 14 NFL games, with no interceptions, two passes defensed, and 18 tackles to his name.
