JetBlue Joins the Carry-On Parade: New Feature Added to Basic Economy Fares

JetBlue now includes carry-on bags with their Basic Economy airline tickets

JetBlue is introducing a new feature to its Basic Economy fares, with the addition of a carry-on bag. This will be available for all Blue Basic tickets, regardless of when they were purchased. The move brings JetBlue in line with competitors such as American Airlines, United, and Delta, who also offer one free carry-on and personal item with their basic fares.

With the addition of a carry-on bag, Blue Basic passengers will be allowed to bring one carry-on bag and a personal item on board. However, checked bags will still incur an additional fee, with the first and second bags costing $65 extra and a third bag costing $180. If overhead bin space runs out, passengers will be required to check their carry-on bag at no extra charge.

JetBlue President Marty St. George expressed the importance of carry-on bags to travelers and emphasized JetBlue’s commitment to providing excellent service compared to other carriers. The move reflects their commitment to improving the customer experience and remaining competitive in the industry.
