JetBlue Adds Another Perk: Free Carry-On Bags for All Passengers

JetBlue announces new carry-on policy for economy fares

JetBlue has recently made a significant change to its policy by offering free carry-on bags to all classes of travelers, including those holding economy tickets. This decision is in response to the growing trend among US-based airlines to offer itemized itineraries and charge passengers for various services, such as water. By providing complimentary carry-on bags for all customers, JetBlue is taking a step towards improving customer satisfaction and remaining competitive in the airline industry.

Starting September 6, customers who purchase Blue Basic tickets will be allowed one free carry-on bag for the overhead bin as well as a personal item to stow under the seat in front of them. This change represents an effort on JetBlue’s part to improve the customer experience and remain competitive in the airline industry, as stated by JetBlue president Marty St. George.

After September 6, all JetBlue customers, regardless of their fare class (Blue Basic, Blue, or Blue Extra), will be granted a complimentary carry-on bag. However, checked bags will still require an additional $65 fee at any fare level. Additionally, customers on overcrowded flights may be asked to check their luggage free of charge to ensure comfort for all passengers.

St. George highlighted the importance of offering different fare options to cater to the diverse preferences of customers in today’s competitive airline industry. Whether customers are looking for more included benefits or shopping solely on price, JetBlue aims to provide clear and transparent information about what each fare selection includes. This customer-centric approach has positioned JetBlue as a top choice for travelers seeking value, convenience, and great onboard service.
