Jeff Stoutland Reflects on Mixed Emotions Following Jason Kelce’s Retirement from the NFL

Jeff Stoutland: Jason Kelce exhausts every ounce of mental and physical energy

For 11 years, Jeff Stoutland coached Jason Kelce as his position coach in Philadelphia. During this time, Stoutland became renowned as one of the best offensive line coaches in the league. He was hired by Chip Kelly in 2013 and continued to coach the offensive line under Doug Pederson and Nick Sirianni.

On Monday, Stoutland spoke to the media about Kelce’s retirement. Although he expressed mixed emotions, he was happy for Kelce but also saddened because he felt like he was losing a close friend and partner in the process. Despite these feelings, Stoutland acknowledged that Kelce’s decision to retire was perfect timing and that he had given everything he had to the game.

Stoutland praised Kelce for his dedication and commitment, noting that he left nothing on the table in his career. Kelce’s accomplishments speak for themselves, as he finished his career as a Super Bowl champion, seven-time Pro Bowler, and six-time first-team All-Pro. His impact on the Eagles and the city of Philadelphia will not be forgotten.

Stoutland reflected on his time with Kelce and how much they had accomplished together. “Jason is one of those rare guys who can bring it every day,” Stoutland said. “He always gave 100%, whether it was practice or game day. I’m proud of him for what he achieved during his career.”
