Italian Camila Moroni Secures Silver at Boulder World Cup, Defies Expectations and Sets New Personal Best

Camila Moroni of Italy won her first Boulder World Cup medal by securing silver after topping two of the finals boulders. She was the first to attempt the problems in the finals, having qualified in sixth position in the semi-finals. Despite missing the zone on the final problem, she was able to secure the silver medal, surpassing her previous best of fifth place in Seoul, South Korea in 2022.

Moroni expressed her satisfaction with her performance and climbing, admitting that she did not expect to achieve such a result, especially considering it was the first competition of the year. She mentioned that it was her first time in China and she believed it was lucky for her as she won her first World Cup medal there, liking the venue and people.

The home crowd had a reason to cheer as Luo Zhilu of China matched her personal best with a third-place finish, also topping two boulders but with more attempts than Moroni. Luo expressed her satisfaction with her performance, noting that it had been over a year since her last bronze medal and she was excited about the result, surpassing her expectations.

Zelia Avezou of France and Erin McNeice of Great Britain both made it to their first Boulder World Cup final, achieving personal best results. Avezou finished fourth by topping one boulder, while McNeice finished fifth with one top. Matsufuji Anon of Japan also made it to the finals, finishing in sixth place with one topped boulder.
