Climatech: The Future of Technology in Israel and Beyond

Israel has a long history of producing successful startups, particularly in sectors such as cybersecurity, fintech, and agriculture. However, in recent years, there has been a shift in the types of startups emerging from the country. Talented founders and top talents with military or top unit backgrounds are now entering industries such as climatetech, renewable energies, and energy transformation.

At an event celebrating Israel’s most promising startups of 2024, Amit Peri, Head of Israel at SE Ventures, shared his thoughts on the evolving startup landscape in the country. He highlighted the emergence of new names on startup lists and the growth of companies that have been building themselves up over the past few years. Peri emphasized the importance of finding a good market fit and product fit in order for startups to grow and succeed.

SE Ventures is a venture capital fund backed by Schneider Electric with a focus on climate tech companies in Israel, Europe, and the U.S. The fund typically invests between $5-15 million per investment and aims to support companies that are working towards a greener future. Peri noted that some startups have been around for a decade or more and are now entering a phase of hypergrowth, scaling up their operations and achieving significant growth.
