Israeli soldiers under investigation by IDF

An Israeli soldier is currently being investigated after tying an injured Palestinian prisoner to an army vehicle during an operation in the West Bank. The soldier was arrested during a recent anti-terror operation in Jenin and was found to be in violation of orders and applicable rules when he did so, according to the Israeli army on Sunday.

The video of the incident, which occurred on Saturday, had been circulating online, showing a man strapped horizontally to the hood of a military jeep as it drove down a narrow street. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) stated that the behavior of its forces in the video does not align with its values.

Jenin has long been known as a stronghold for militant Palestinian groups such as Hamas and Islamic Jihad. Israeli security forces regularly conduct raids in Jenin and the refugee settlement of the same name. The area has seen increased violence since the beginning of the war in Gaza against Hamas.

Since last year’s Hamas attack on Israel, at least 549 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli soldiers or extremist settlers, as reported by Palestinian sources. Additionally, at least 14 Israelis have lost their lives in attacks by radical Palestinians, according to Israeli sources.
