On Tuesday, Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu acknowledged that the Israeli Army unintentionally killed seven humanitarian workers from the NGO World Central Kitchen (WCK) in the Gaza Strip. Netanyahu expressed regret for the incident and pledged to investigate it thoroughly to prevent such occurrences in the future.

The Israeli Army announced that an independent military entity, the Fact Investigation and Assessment Mechanism, will investigate the attack that led WCK to suspend its operations in the region. The IDF spokesperson, Daniel Hagari, conveyed condolences to chef Jos Andrés, the founder of the humanitarian group, for the tragic deaths of the workers.

The attack resulted in the deaths of seven NGO workers, including foreign nationals, making it a devastating blow during the ongoing conflict in Gaza. Jos Andrés called on the Israeli Government to cease indiscriminate killing and to allow humanitarian aid to reach those in need without obstruction.
