Israeli Army Exits Gaza Strip Hospital, Leaving 6,000 Civilians Displaced and Raising Concerns about Human Rights Violations

Israel’s “completed operation” update: IDF withdraws from al-Shifa hospital in Gaza

The Israeli army has completed its operations in the area of the al-Shifa hospital in the Gaza Strip, two weeks after entering it and causing international outcry. According to a statement released by the army, they killed terrorists during clashes in the area. The announcement came after Hamas leaders believed that Israel had finished its activity at the hospital and would not return. This led to a rapid organization of a second raid, resulting in the evacuation of over 6,000 civilians.

The IDF and Shin Bet forces left the area on Sunday following a second raid that began on March 18. Reports from eyewitnesses described scenes of destruction and bodies left abandoned around the hospital. The WHO stated that 21 patients had died since the start of the Israeli operation, with many displaced people seeking refuge at the hospital. Concerns were raised about the findings of bodies at the hospital compound, prompting the White House to express worry and seek additional information from the Israeli government.
