Israel Says No to International Advice in Defence Against Iran Attack, While UK Holds Meeting with Israeli Leaders

Israel to retaliate against Iran’s attack, announces Cameron

The British government has asked Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to “keep calm” after Israel announced its decision to respond to Iran’s massive attack last week. This news comes a day after the UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron met with Israeli President Isaac Herzog in Jerusalem.

During the meeting, Cameron and his German counterpart Annalena Baerbock expressed hope that Israel’s response would not further escalate the situation. The Israeli Presidency’s office issued a statement emphasizing the need for the international community to take decisive action against the threat posed by Iranian regime.

Before returning to the UK, Cameron is scheduled to meet with Netanyahu and Foreign Affairs Minister Israel Katz, as well as Palestinian Prime Minister Mohamed Mustafa. Netanyahu emphasized in a statement that Israel will make its own decisions to defend itself, regardless of any international advice or suggestions.
