The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that at least eight people, including seven Iranians, were killed in the attack. Among the dead were the brigadier general of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Mohamed Reda al Zahedi, and his assistant, general Mohammad Haji Rahimi.
