The registration process for Iran’s 14th presidential election began on Thursday. Several individuals have already registered as possible candidates to replace the late president Ebrahim Raisi, who passed away in a helicopter crash last month. Notable candidates include Mehmedreza Sabajian, Mozatfa Khoachbian, Abbas Mokhtada’i, Khodrat Ali Hashemtian, Abd al-Nasser Hamti, Saeed Jalili, and Ali Larijani.
Seyed Mohammad-Reza Mirtajodini is an Iranian cleric and conservative politician who previously served as the Vice President for Parliamentary Affairs and has been a Member of Parliament for two terms. Zahra Elhian is another conservative Iranian politician who was a member of the Iranian parliament between 2008-2012 and 2020-2024.

Syed Ahmed Rasulinjad is a politician representing the constituencies of Damwand and Firuzkoh in the 11th term of the Islamic Council. Ali-Reza Zakhani is an Iranian politician who has been serving as the mayor of Tehran since 2021. Habibullah Dehmarde is the governor of several provinces in Iran and a member of the Islamic Parliament in both its tenth and eleventh terms.
