Iranian Attacks on Israel Compared to Russian Attacks on Ukraine: Experts Warn of Escalating Conflicts

Iran is making use of its experience from operations in the Ukraine war

The recent Iranian attacks on Israel are being compared to the Russian attacks on Ukraine, according to expert analysis. The Iranian drone and missile attack indicates that Iran is learning from Russian and Houthi rebel tactics to develop more effective attack strategies against Israel and the USA, according to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

Iran has taken lessons from the Houthi attacks on international shipping in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, where a combination of Iranian drones and missiles targeted US air and missile defense systems. Experts point out that Russia has used a similar combination of ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as drones, in their attacks on Ukraine. The Russian forces have caused significant damage to Ukraine’s energy infrastructure in recent times.

It is believed by experts that the use of Iranian-made drones will not only benefit Iran but also countries like Russia, North Korea, and China in deploying more targeted attacks against the US and its allies. This could potentially change the dynamics of conflicts in the future as these countries continue to improve their attack strategies. The combination of Iranian Shahed drones, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles is designed to overwhelm Israeli air defenses while Iran-backed actors in Lebanon and Yemen are also planning coordinated attacks.
