Iowa Senator Joni Ernst Recognizes The Cottage of Crawford County as Her Small Business of the Week, Celebrating Entrepreneurship and Community Impact in Denison

Ernst Honors Small Business as the Business of the Week

U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) has announced The Cottage of Crawford County as her Small Business of the Week. This is just one of many small businesses she plans to recognize throughout this Congress, with each business being selected from Iowa’s 99 counties.

The Cottage of Crawford County is owned by mother and daughter duo Cindy and Taylor Borkowski, who have successfully turned their passion for home decor into a thriving small business. Ernst congratulated the Borkowskis on pursuing their entrepreneurial dreams and creating a positive impact in the Denison community, wishing them continued success as they recently moved to a new location.

In 2020, Cindy and Taylor Borkowski purchased Your Treasure Chest home decor store in Denison and rebranded it as The Cottage. They continue to offer high-quality home decor items, as well as children, baby, seasonal, and devotional items. The Cottage has received recognition as the Best Boutique in Crawford County and has won the Innovators Award from the local Chamber and Development Council. Taylor Borkowski is also involved in the community as an organizer of Denison’s Hot Summer Nights series. The Cottage recently celebrated its fourth business anniversary.

Ranking Member Ernst will continue to recognize Iowa small businesses with her Small Business of the Week award, showcasing the diverse and innovative entrepreneurs across the state who are making a difference in their communities.
