Ibrahim Raisi’s Funeral Takes Place in Tehran on Wednesday

On Wednesday, the funeral for Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, who tragically died in a helicopter crash, will take place in Tehran. The procession will begin in the city of Tehran in the morning to honor the president and his companions, including Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian, who were also killed in the crash. According to Iranian authorities, an investigation into the cause of the helicopter crash has been ordered by Major General Mohammad Bagheri, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces.

The Iranian Students News Agency (ISNA) reported that a high-level committee has been tasked with investigating the crash by Bagheri. Turkish Transport Minister Abdulkadir Oraloglu confirmed that there was no signal system activated on the helicopter carrying Raisi and other officials at the time of their death. Oraloglu suggested that it is possible that there may have been an issue with activating or absenteeism of signal systems on board as indicated by a lack of signals during incident.
