International Leaders Gather at Venaria Palace for Historic G7 Environment, Energy, and Climate Summit

The G7 Meeting on Environment, Energy, and Climate starts in Venaria

The G7 Environment, Energy, and Climate meeting is happening at the Royal Palace of Venaria with the Italian Presidency leading the way. The ministerial meeting will take place from today until tomorrow and will be divided into four sessions. The opening session will start at 10 am with a plenary session among the ministers, followed by a work session focused on Climate and Energy. Afterward, an Environment session will take place to conclude the first day of meetings. On Tuesday, a new plenary meeting of all Ministers will begin the day, followed by a joint press conference with Italian minister Gilberto Pichetto and counterparts from Japan and Canada.

The Italian Ministry of Environment and Energy Security delegation is leading the discussions, with Minister Pichetto, Deputy Minister Vannia Gava, and Undersecretary Claudio Barbaro present. Technical meetings of working groups have been held in recent months to develop themes that are central to the discussion. In addition to ministerial representatives from several countries, key Commissioners from the European Commission are also present. Representatives from various international institutions and organizations have been invited to participate in the summit, highlighting its global significance.

More than one hundred fifty accredited information operators are present at the Venaria Reale Media Center, where discussions and decisions related to the G7 meeting are being communicated to the public.

The G7 Environment, Energy, and Climate meeting is taking place under the leadership of Italy’s Presidency at the Royal Palace of Venaria. The two-day event will focus on four sessions: a plenary session among ministers on day one’s opening session followed by a work session on Climate and Energy in the afternoon; an Environment session concluding day one; while day two starts with another plenary meeting among all Ministers before ending in a joint press conference with Italian Gilberto Pichetto joined by his counterparts from Japan and Canada.
