The Director General of the National Cybersecurity Agency, Bruno Frattasi, has highlighted the importance of innovation in creating a State that leads in technological advancements. This message was conveyed during the event ‘Cybersecurity: opportunities and challenges for Italian start-ups and SMEs’, organized by the National Cybersecurity Agency.
The event began with a speech from Undersecretary to the Presidency of the Council, Alfredo Mantovano, who emphasized the need for Italy to become a key player in global technological transformation. Minister of University and Research, Anna Maria Bernini, and Minister of Business and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, also addressed the audience.
Frattasi stressed the importance of supporting young entrepreneurial ventures such as start-ups and SMEs in their pursuit of innovation to drive technological and digital development in Italy. The National Cybersecurity Agency has established a ‘network of operators’ through a public notice procedure to collaborate on programs supporting innovation and applied research in areas of interest.
To steer technological innovation towards achieving strategic autonomy in both national and European contexts by mid-2024, the National Cybersecurity Agency plans to focus on universities and research institutes while promoting further funding calls. By combining ‘Made in Italy’ with technological development, this initiative aims to secure a promising future for innovation.
