Injured Pacers Point Guard Haliburton Unlikely for Game 3 against Celtics

Pacers’ Tyrese Haliburton ‘not expected’ to play in critical Game 3 against Celtics in NBA Playoffs

The Pacers are currently trailing 2-0 in the series with Game 3 taking place at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Indiana Pacers point guard Tyrese Haliburton is unlikely to play in Game 3 against the Boston Celtics due to soreness in his left hamstring. This injury forced him to exit Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals in the third quarter.

Haliburton came out of the game did not appear too severe, but it was evident that he had been experiencing some pain or discomfort earlier. Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle revealed that Haliburton’s hamstring was sore at halftime, and despite trying to play through it, the decision was made to take him out for further evaluation and treatment.

Scoring 10 points in just 8 minutes, Haliburton was initially listed as questionable for Game 3, but it now seems unlikely that he will be able to participate. Carlisle also mentioned that Haliburton was nursing a chest injury sustained during a collision with Jaylen Brown of the Celtics. The hamstring issue itself traces back to January when Haliburton suffered a Grade 1 strain against the same Celtics team following a slip while driving to the basket.
