The Super 8 stage of the 2024 T20 World Cup is set to kick off on June 19, with seven out of the eight teams already confirmed. Team India will face off against Australia on June 24 in a rematch of the 2023 World Cup Final. After finishing at the top of Group A and winning three matches, India secured their spot in the Super 8 by having one game affected by rain. Bangladesh is expected to be the eighth team in the Super 8, with Netherlands having an outside chance of making it.
During the Super 8 stage, India will be moving from the USA to the West Indies. All three of India’s matches will be held in the Caribbean. The first match for India in the Super 8 stage will be against Afghanistan on June 20 at Kensington Oval, Barbados. The Super 8 format consists of two groups that were determined by a seeding system based on the top eight teams before the tournament. However, due to elimination of Pakistan, New Zealand and Sri Lanka their seeding spots will be filled by USA, Afghanistan and Bangladesh/Netherlands respectively.
