The Indian Register of Shipping (IRS) has appointed Rabindra Sah as its Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to accelerate its digitalization initiatives. With over 30 years of experience in engineering services using digital technologies and industry 4.0 solutions, Sah previously held roles at Tata Technologies and Tata Motors.
Sah’s new role at IRS involves driving the digitalization agenda and implementing cutting-edge technologies to revolutionize the maritime industry. By identifying opportunities for digital innovation, Sah aims to keep IRS at the forefront of technological advancements, benefiting safety, efficiency, and sustainability in the sector.
Arun Sharma, Executive Chairman of IRS, expressed confidence in Sah’s ability to lead digital transformation efforts, citing his track record in complex environments. Sah is a B. Tech graduate in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology-Patna and holds an M. Tech in Data Science & Engineering from BITS Pilani and is pursuing a PhD in Autonomous Vehicles from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham-Bangalore.
This appointment comes as IRS continues to prioritize digitalization efforts to drive innovation and improve operations in the maritime industry. By leveraging Sah’s expertise in digital technologies and industry 4.0 solutions, IRS aims to stay ahead of the curve and make significant strides in leveraging technology for safety and efficiency with a focus on digital innovation.
