The Indian Cricket Team emerged victorious in the T20 World Cup against South Africa, ending an 11-year ICC title drought. Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the team on their win and praised their outstanding performance.

Rohit Sharma was commended for his outstanding captaincy, while Virat Kohli was praised for his performance in the final match. Both Kohli and Sharma announced their T20I retirements after the game. Hardik Pandya’s final over and Suryakumar Yadav’s remarkable catch on the boundary line were also lauded by PM Modi.

Home Minister Amit Shah also called Rahul Dravid and Rohit Sharma to congratulate them on the win. Social media was ablaze with congratulatory messages and images of jubilant scenes as India defeated South Africa by seven runs in the final match of the T20 World Cup 2024. This victory marked India’s first ICC title win in 11 years, signifying a momentous achievement for the team.
